From the A1, turn off for Thirsk. Take the A19 for 2-3 miles towards York. Turn left to Coxwold. At the crossroads turn left to Byland Abbey. Then on to Wass. Take the Ampleforth road for 1 mile. We are on the left. There is no separate B&B sign. Just use the what3words app [which you can download for free] just pop in ///upper.whisker.shot .
Please note: if you are using a sat-nav it may direct you to the house across the road which has electric gates. If this happens you need to continue on the road for another 150 yards or so and we are on the opposite side of the road.
As you come up our drive and approach the house you will see a dry stone wall and the house beyond. Please park with the nose of your car facing the dry stone wall either on the tarmac or on the grass.
Hassle free travel. In just over 2 hours you can safely travel from London Kings Cross to Thirsk which is 15 minutes easy drive from here. Hire a car from Practical (01845 587232) at approx £35 per day. You would need to book in advance and they will meet you at the train station. There is a limited bus service from York.
